Sea Day - Day 3

Would you believe I heard the damn phone ring at 7 freakin 30 this morning? FRO. At least it's sea day so I can get a nap in. Bob has an 8am shave scheduled. He's never had one and been talking about doing this since last year. Finally decided to do it. So I got up with him and grabbed some coffee out on the pool deck. Guess it's time to start my book.

He came back after an hour all soft, smooth and smiles. It feels really niiiiice.

Hungry, we walked down to Blu for breakfast. The Riddles and Comstocks were there so we squeezed in with them and hung out. David, the maitre d, introduced himself and said he remembered Cari and Matt from their cruise. We also checked with him regarding our table for 8 for dinner and was told that we were his only part of 8 this cruise so he'd have it set up for us and to come any time. Bonus!!!! Gabriel is back in Blu!!! We were so stoked to see him again!! As nice as David is, he isn't Mazy.

After a leisurely breakfast, Regina, Kathy and I changed into our walking shoes and hit the top deck for some exercise. Kathy and I did 12 laps around the top (Regina hung in there for 9) which equaled to about 3 miles. Boy were we thirsty!! I started with a frozen mojito and ended up getting a frozen margarita. But it was good!! Kathy ordered the frozen mojito and Regina a regular mojito. They went down real smooth. After another round, it was burger time!!!

The grill by the pool has some pretty good turkey burgers and fries. We managed to find a table and all gathered around for lunch. As always, the company made the food that much better. Bob, DE and Sarah headed off to the casino and the rest of us girls changed and went to the sauna. Moving back and forth between the Sahara, herbal and heated tile bench left us all limp as dishrags. Rick and Jim caught up with us in the herbal steam room.  They couldn't hang with us, though, and left to go scope out the tv for the game (Redskins/Packers playoff). Bob showed up while us girls were still melting on the tile bench. I left him in the herbal room to come back and get cleaned up so we could go watch the game.

By the time we got down to the viewing area (just a tv in a corner of a lounge) there were quite a few people there already. Our guys made sure we had space though. Kick off was very exciting and while I rarely root for the Skins, tonight I was. They started out strong and the crowd was rather rowdy. There were slightly more Redskins fans than Packers fans and it was a great group of people. Tammy was the highlight. She loved Jim's Camus wine and kept asking to just smell it. SMH - you can't make this stuff up. Other passengers stopped to watch a few plays and get the score on their way to dinner at the Cosmopolitan Restaurant. We made some new friends tonight!

It ended up being a rather long game, or at least it felt that way to most of us. By 7:00 all of us were hungry, but we couldn't leave for dinner since it wasn't even halftime yet! Once again, the girls came to the rescue. We made a pizza run up to the buffet and came back with plates of various pizzas to hold us over until we could get some real food. It hit the spot and held us over so we could get through the rest of the game. Sometime during the third quarter the Packers took the lead ... and kept it. We got quieter and a little bored. It just wasn't pretty. Towards the end of the game, Bob and I had taken all the pain we could and left to go book our 2018 cruise. That was much more satisfying than watching the rest of that game. By the time we had that box checked the game was pretty much done with only a minute left. The final score was Packers 35-18. Hey at least they made it to a playoff game!!

Finally we headed up to the buffet to get some dinner. I was really surprised at how many stations were already closed. It was a little after 9:00 and there wasn't that much left open! Bob got a salad before they drew that shade. Regina and I got one of the last bowls of stir-fry before they closed. As we sat and ate, they were closing most of the rest of the stations that were open. They left the pizza, cold cuts and pasta spots open and that was about it. I thought it was pretty early to close everything.

We had a pretty late night last night so we were all in for an earlier one tonight. We have to be out by the port for our 9am pickup for the catamaran cruise in Barbados tomorrow morning. We packed up our bags, cleaned up our snorkel gear, got our cameras ready and I think we've done all we can do tonight. Bob has, he's asleep. It's nearly midnight but earlier tonight than last night for me.

That's all folks. At least for tonight!
